So I wish I had a lot of money and more vacation time. Cause Pop Japan Travel is offering an Iron Chef Tour. I want to go ... well maybe if it is popular they might have it again next year. This post may be a bit random cause I am thoroughly bombed at the moment. I notice the Akadot Newsletter was quite short this week. Or maybe it was really just to announce the two new manga from Doki Doki.

One of the items of business this weekend if to go to the Whole Foods Market and get me some good food, mainly cheese. I also have to buy some Sake cause after tonight I am almost out. At this moment I am surprised
that I can still type coherently. Though, I do have to keep going back to correct my spelling. Somehow, that doesn't seem to be any more different than normal. I also need to post some more stuff on eBay. I got some new doujin and although they are good (yaoi scene-wise) they just don't appeal to me.

Oh, I've got the munchies. I think after the plumber comes tomorrow I am going out to Olive Garden. I want to try their new Italian Cheese Stuffed Rollatinis. The chicken one, I'm not a big fan of sausage. I like the sweet Italian sausage. Usually I like to put it in some sort of ragu with a filled pasta. The best ragu I ever had was at Todd English's restaurant Olives in the Bellagio. It was so yummy with some delicate ricotta raviolis. Yum. Anyhoo, to go on, I hope I am hungry tomorrow cause Olive Garden has new appetizers and desserts that I want to try. I haven't had their Chicken and Gnocchi soup yet either so I want to try that.

Okay, time to stop drinking. When you reach the point that you spill your drink more than you drink it it's time to stop. Oh, on a side note, I am going on a date on Saturday. This is actually a second date. I am really looking forward to it. We are going on the Dam tour. It's funny, I was born in Las Vegas and this will be my first time on the tour. I don't recall ever going to Boulder City, I hope there are some good diner's to eat at.

Okay, that's all I can manage for now. The room keeps tilting and I am falling asleep. I swear when I get up tomorrow I am going to eat everything in sight. After having coffee of course. Oh, and I have to mention I got I new phone. I love it. I can put my own ringtones on it. So far I've got the end theme from Axis Powers Hetalia and a snippet from Avenue Q on there.

I must be extremely lazy today. I didn't really wake up until 11:25 and I am still lying in bed typing this. I had the weirdest dream about being lost in Australia. I was doing reporting on the recent trend of rare snakeskin exportation. At one point got locked inside of local rancher's gift shop. After sneaking out with some jewelry (yes I stole it) I drove around in the dark until I found a road. From there I got to a small shopping center, it was obviously a tourist stop. I tried to get a map, but the two dingy store clerks did not know where they were (both the maps and their own location).

Now I have no idea where is dream came from. The only thing I watched on TV yesterday were cooking shows and Law and Order SVU. I ate around 8pm but didn't end up going to bed until after 1 am. So it was not that. And the only thing I did on the computer was surf YouTube and screw around on the Axis Powers Hetalia Fan Page on Facebook.

On a side note, it seems like I wasn't too constructive yesterday. I guess I should get up here soon and start cleaning up the house. However, coffee comes first.

Honestly that is all this post is about. CHEESE. Short of finding a cheese shop (I haven't searched for any in town) my two favorite places to buy cheese are Trader Joe's and the Whole Foods Market. It seems that I gravitate towards things that are like Brie and goat cheese. I guess the soft ones. Right now I am munching on a cream cheese spread that I made.

Awesome Yummy Cheese Spread

Recipe:
1 (8oz) package cream cheese, softened (NOT the spread)
1 cup finely shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon parsley
3 strips of bacon, cooked and crumbled

Mix everything together and enjoy on crackers! (I recommend Townhouse)

I'd advise against using the cream cheese that comes in a container, it makes the recipe too salty. Also the amount of garlic powder can be adjusted to taste. However, I do know that adding too much causes the spread to leave a bitter aftertaste. Also, don't use imitation bacon bits, it ruins the taste. This recipe is not for those on a diet.

Arrgh! I work, I work, I work. So now I feel like not doing a single thing when I get home (except read manga). Its nice getting a promotion, but now I have less time to do anything at home (except read manga). Sometimes I think I temporarily need a clone (or two - one to read manga) or something. Then, at the end of the day I could absorb my clone and still be one person. Creepy, no? Anyway ... Help! My group needs Typesetters! Editors! Cleaners! Translators! Sugardaddies! Anything! I am falling a bit behind and I am afraid my translator will soon threaten to beat me with a rubber chicken.

And I still need money. So those of you in the fujoushi community will probably get this right away.
Hopefully, I will meet some of ya'll on this trip. Barring some unfortunate event, I am going to Japan in May! I have not bought any manga since the middle of December cause I am saving for this trip. It's driving me nuts, especially since lately Borders keeps sending me some good coupons and Rightstuf is having some awesome DVD deals. Oh well, willpower is the name of the game.

Okay got to go, ran out of brain space for today.

I am irritated cause it was brought to my attention that another site (Ohara Yaoi fansite) had posted one of our translated doujinshi (Flowers and the King) without asking. Furthermore, they removed our insert page and put in one of their own to boot. Now I don't mind if the raws I post are distributed here and there but come on people. We worked hard on this, it may not have been a large doujinshi but we still worked on it. Is it too much to ask us [the group] if they could post it? Or perhaps for them to credit us on their site since they did not ask? I am just asking for a common courtesy.

Oh man, what a day, what a day. I need some money. Anybody out there willing to give me some money? I need to quit this job and relax for a while. Go back to college, maybe take some helicopter flying lessons, or go to Japan and buy a ridiculous amount of doujinshi, anything but be at my current job for a spell. I got so angry with a coworker today I couldn't see straight, had an upset stomach and I almost threw up. I actually went to employee relations, I just can't take it any more. I am tired of bending over backwards then getting spit in the face for it.

Anyway, enough of that. I registered for Yaoi-con. I keep waiting to see if they will update their site. Mainly, I NEED TO KNOW how to get Yamato Nase's autograph. Secondly, the swap meet, when? how much time? how much a table? will it conflict with other things I want to do? I am trying to sell a bunch of my doujin and yaoi manga. What I pack for this trip will be determined by that, I don't want to spend the money to check in luggage if I don't need to. Once again, a plea for money. Somebody, anybody! Buy my stuff on eBay - Blue Harlequins Corner.

Random Rant

Has anyone seen that Brita commercial that has been on the tv lately? I really pisses me off. It's the one that shows a lady reading and next to her on the nightstand is a plastic water bottle. The caption says "40 minutes with a book. Forever in a landfill." Then goes on illustrate the Brita water pitcher. Because I recycle and I have a water filtration system in my sink, this commercial really irks me.

Another one that I find extremely annoying is that propaganda the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union has promoting lately. The Walmart commercial about "products imported from Communist China." All of those "tainted toys" that Walmart buys, where do they come from? Hasbro, Mattel, Tyco, Tonka, Playmates. Where are all the commercials citing their accountability?

Well first post in a while, I have other ones just too busy to post them. However, right now I am in LA at the Anime Expo. I have to say the LA convention center is huge. I went to the AMV contest for the first time. It was good. No if I could just get some decent food this trip would be a bit better.

So what has been happening lately? I was a little surprized the other day. A doujin-ka contacted me directly and asked me to remove her doujin that I had scanned and posted on aarinfantasy. I wonder if she realizes that there are a few more on there posted by other people. The file share sites seem to be a bit more vigilant about the files uploaded, cause I had several sites take down some of my stuff for violating their TOS. Core Magazine contacted aarinfantasy and asked them to take down all of their publications. Core owns Drap Comics, and the list of manga is large. So just imagine if Libre contacted aarinfantasy, heh, the manga DL forum would pretty much be wiped out.

I have been working a crazy schedule lately. My company recently upgrades the system I work on. I came in at midnight one night to finsh up some work so the upgrade could take place. Then the next day I worked 13 hours because of all the problems and the day after that I worked 12 hours. Today is like my only day off.

Well, I am standing in the living room talking to my mom while watching Rachel's Tasty Travels on the Food Network. Rachel happens to be in Chicago and she is expounding on the awesomeness that is this restaurant called Hot Chocolate. Now at this moment in particular it zooms in on this delectable chocolate souffle tart, which I happen to drool over. My mom turns to me and says, "This is why you'll never lose weight." Oh, it was a crushing blow.

Speaking of loosing weight, I had just finished cooking some fish cakes (from the Kraft Food & Family mag, modified of course.) And I made pasta that I will probably dress up in a bunch of different ways for lunches this week. Eh, now I know one of my motto's is "Never trust a skinny chef," but come on, I can't just eat everything I cook. That's what I have guinea pigs for. All those friends who come and visit me, they don't mind a free dinner. Even if the dinner is ultra gourmet. For example:

Chicken and Corn Soup in a Puff Pastry Shell (my take on soup in a bread bowl)
Wilted Spinach Salad with an Apple Cider and Cippolini Vinaigrette
garnished with Toasted Walnuts
Seared Scallops with Garlic Beurre Blanc sauce and Gorgonzola Gnocchi

I think about the only thing I need is a helper. All those damn dishes to clean when I am done. Wish someone would help me clean them. * sigh *

Well enough of my lamentations. Here's a scan from one of my recent purchases from JPQueen. I got myself another Chikadou doujinshi. It's Gintama this time. The pairing is Gintoki x Shinpachi and it is not for kiddies.

Right now a stampeding herd of elephants is rampaging inside my head. I have a feeling that it might be sinus/allergy related, hopefully I don't pass out and die before the end of this post. And maybe to be a bit optimistic, I really don't want to die before Bleach or One Piece ends either.

Here's an interesting tidbit. Did you see ELF made the national news? Those people give conservationists a bad name. Also, I was mildly surprised to see Vegas made the news with the ricin scare down at some motel. Woo hoo, what a fun and exciting city I live in.

Anyhoo, I guess after those days spent doing almost next to nothing last week, I am back to my regular job. And damn if those carnivorous bunnies (or it might be space aliens) didn't punish me for it. Today was a total freakfest. My computer seemed to have issues with working properly, because of the leap year some of the systems I work with went bananas and I had to resist the urge to beat another coworker senseless (however that is pretty much typical).

Quite possibly I also have this headache cause I have been consistently depriving myself of sleep the past few days. Damn, if only fanfiction wasn't so interesting. Right now my current kinks are:

Bleach - Grimmjaw x Ichigo, Grimmjaw x Ulquiorra or Ulquiorra x Orihime
Naruto - Kakashi x Sasuke and Kabuto x Sasuke.

And at the moment I am gravitating back to HP too. The tried and true pairing of course SS x HP. Quite awhile ago I had started reading a fic called "Never an Obligation." It was a story in which Harry and Snape have an established relationship, but after a misunderstanding he flees to Los Angeles where he meets Angel (yes it is a crossover, but no Angel x Harry to my relief). The author never finished it and I have always wondered where it would have ended up going. Ah, the joys of amateur writing.

Well, I will close on that note, since my tea is ready. Oh and this too Rowan Atkinson - Smut. It's a riot.

Aw man, I was so suprised. The window for the Cox tech to come over was 8AM to 10AM. I was downright flabbergasted he showed up at 8:10AM. I can't say that he did much. We'll see if the connection stays good.

I caught up to the most current episode of Bleach (162), now I need to figure out what I want to catch up to next. I was thinking about either Kyou Kara Maou or Monster. I left off somewhere in the middle of KKM when I found out it was going to be licensed. Now that I have gotten most of the DVDs I might have to start watching it again. As for Monster, I am trying to wait until I have all of the manga. Viz is releasing it at a decent rate so I don't think I have to wait too long.

I bought so much food the other day. It is such a bad idea to go shopping when you are hungry. Especially to go shopping at some place like Trader Joes. It was funny, as much groceries I bought, I still forgot the milk! I am working on my second cup of coffee for the day. You know, the second cup of coffee never tastes as good as the first. I still haven't had breakfast and it is getting close to that time when it could be early lunch time.

I am working on my web page at the moment. Trying to get this darn doujinshi store and eBay streamlined so that I can reduce the amount of stuff I have to list. It is far less costly to sell on my site than on eBay. Eh, okay, I have finally gotten hungry enough to go make food.

right now I have a lingering headache

I've been on an anime binge lately. I am trying to catch up with all of the frickin' series I have. Also trying to buy more stuff (anime DVDs) to keep up with my collection. Bleach is just so massive. I think I need to go back to buying the manga as well. Maybe I can find them online for cheap at Amazon or eBay. As far as the anime goes I think I am on episode 146. Ah, and I need to catch up with One Piece as well. I think I stalled at episode 239. I was happy, I finished all of Darker than Black. I am awaiting its release on DVD, since I definitely will buy it. I was surprised, it had a rather satisfactory ending in my opinion. Maybe after I catch up with Bleach I will also catch up with Rental Magica and Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro.

Aw, man, this headache just won't go away. It's punishment for DLing fansubs.

I find that I have less patience with people right now. It's been that way for awhile. Remember when there were those big fires in Southern California last year? I was sitting in my car when a lady threw a cigarette but out the window. I lost it. All the windows in my car were down. Most of the other driver's had their windows down as well, it was a rather balmy day. I started cussing this lady out, LOUD. I shouted, "It's f-cking people like you who start forest fires! Where the f-ck do you get off just throwing your buts out the window?!" And other obscenities to the point. Heh, everyone in their cars turned around to look at me. Now I used to smoke, I have no problems with people smoking. I think some of these goofy smoking laws we've had passed recently are BS. However, I can't stand people who litter.

Sometimes I wonder if I should be a bit perturbed about how little morals I have. Then the feeling passes and I wonder why I feel so annoyed. OMG, my head hurts. It's to the level that I feel like I might need to throw up.

*Sigh* I have been procrastinating lately. I will have some free time to myself here soon so I think I will take the time to finish typesetting that OP doujin we're working on. The list of scanning/cleaning/etc. just seems to keep getting bigger and bigger. Ah, and I am so bad. Someone contacted me on Aarinfantasy about translating into French and I still haven't replied to them.

Ah, I finally broke down and took some Advil with some chamomile tea.

Okay, moment of terror there. I lost my internet connection briefly. I was in the middle of posting things on eBay as well. I thought, "Oh sh-t, I'm going to have to call Cox again." Last time it was a nightmare. I got some wacko tech that had to run me through all the paces. I kept desperately trying to tell him that the problem was on their end. I mean, geez, how much brains does it take to figure out that if their tech guy shows up across the street, then suddenly I lose connection after he leaves, that it couldn't possibly be something wrong with my computer? And it was four frickin days before I got it back. I sell on eBay, I sell on Amazon, I have a whole other existence on the computer. I actually flip out when I can't do something as simple as check my e-mail.

Well that was it, I just had to vent . . .

Oh, and I feel that I should add that I hate dentists. Yesterday I had some fillings put in. Not only could I not open my mouth after the Novocaine wore off, but eating and yawning had to be the single most painful things in the world (at that moment in time). Coupled with the fact that I think my dentist is a quack. I think they [its a conglomerate of practitioners] overcharge, and I have a sneaking feeling that my teeth are not as full of cavities as they claim. I think I might go seek a second opinion. Argh, now it feels funny when I chew.

Okay, so I just finished watching Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations. I have to say the man is crazy. The episode was Namibia and I only caught the last twenty minutes. I think nothing on Fear Factor (not that I watch that drivel) could rival fresh warthog anus. Uncleaned after killing the animal. I’m rolling on the ground at the last statement he makes about the beetles he ends up consuming, “The best thing I have eaten all day.” I have to own this show. Sometimes he goes to strange foreign places and eats awesome food, other times it’s unparalled disgusting.

Ugh. I'm training someone again at work and he just happens to be sick. So I am like obsessively wiping down everything he touches with alcohol pads. I've got sick people all around me so I have been taking/drinking Airbourne like it's vodka. Just more fuel to the fire of the argument that I should become a shut in.

Okay, so I think in a previous post I talked about Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro (Private Evil-Eye Nougami Neuro). Since then I have purchased a few doujinshi. A couple are of course yaoi, but I surprised myself. I bought a couple of hentai ones. I could translate this one, I might take quite a while so if anyone else wants to they are quite welcome to it. Anyhoo, here is the first one, I will scan the second one in due time after the US Postal Service delivers it in day or so.

Another post! So soon? What is the world coming to?

Okay, so my otaku self is just oozing with glee at the moment. My bookcase got featured on Anime News Network’s Shelf Life (scroll to the bottom). It’s funny cause the picture is from about six months or so ago and I finally just sent it in a little less than a month ago. The shelves actually bow with the weight of the books (which are stacked two rows deep.) I’m not planning to take another picture anytime soon, I am hoping someone will buy me another bookshelf. Sighs. Conservatively measuring this, I buy $200+ of manga a month, which is about 20 books (before tax!), and that was about 6 months ago. Hmm. 120 new books, where do I find the room? And that’s not counting the amount of doujin I buy either …

Okay, I have to stop in the middle of this post to go make me some SPAM and rice, cause I am starving. For all of you who are cringing at my dinner choice, poo on you. I think SPAM tastes great, and everyone I have ever talked to who hates it, has never even tried it!

Oh, that was good. Continuing on, sometimes I wonder where all my times goes. I know a lot of it goes to this computer. I never seem to run out of stuff to do. I can’t remember when was the last time I sat down and just vegetized. This weekend I have to put up our Christmas tree. The logistical problem now is, “Where do I put it?” We moved all of the couches around this spring and there is like no “attractive” place to put the tree (which is 7 ½ ft tall.) Ah, and I have to make up a Christmas list of who I am buying for and what I should buy for them. And there is a ton of paper on every flat surface in my computer room, I suppose I should go through it and see what it is. In addition, there is a whole mess of things that I need to list on eBay and Amazon.

To top it all off, I am planning on rebinding or trying to bind a book. I’ve got more than a few manga that I have to try and rebind. All the pages and stuff are in primo condition, I just have to get them into the cover correctly and glue them back together. Easier said than done. Also, for the longest time, I have been thinking of publishing my own book of poetry. I have a large amount of poems I wrote when I was younger that I would like to make into a small book. I thought of having it published by a subsidy company but the costs are astronomical. After reading up on handmade books I am thinking of taking a crack at it myself.

I got an interesting e-mail at work today. It was advising that tomorrow was Slap Your Irritating Co-Worker Day. Damn, I wish it were true. Some of them are driving me nuts. I am pretty sure some of them would like to get a crack at me. I need one of those desk signs “I'll try being nicer if you'll try being smarter.” And it’s not that I think that the people at my work are dumb, it’s that for some reason the moment they clock in all their common sense and reason seems to fly out the door. In actuality, some of them are really clever. The reason I say this, is that it takes a lot of brains to be able to get out of doing work, especially if is their own.

Okay, well I got that off my chest. Now, let’s move on to a slightly more interesting topic. I was on ANN the other day and there was an editorial letter to the industry. This sparked a forum debate that surpassed a few dozen pages and over 500 posts. My only comment here is that it is sad the state of anime fandom.

I just finished the movie Rescue Dawn. I have to say that I have never been disappointed by a Christian Bale movie. I am slowly trying to catch up on all of the movies and anime that I have rented. I watched the miniseries for MPD-Psycho. It was the broadcast version so all the gory bits were censored. I have to find out where I put it so I can send it back to Netflix along with Ultramaniac and whatever else I rented.

Going back to e-mails at work; I actually get a lot that are pure malarkey. For example, I got one the other day about those new birth control pills that make it so you only have your period once every three months. The e-mail was going on and on about the dangers of these pills and that women could die from blood clots and that you should warn all your female friends and family members. When did this become an issue? It’s not like it’s something new, even the old pills that still follow the monthly cycle have this side effect. Did people stop reading the warning labels? I don’t get it.

Wow, they just showed a Trojan commercial on TV. I haven't seen an adult commercial in the longest time. Now its a Halo 3 ad. Okay, time to go to bed.

Something occurred to me today. I must be disturbed about something. Whenever I get into the mood to cook I am usually depressed or something is bothering me. I haven’t figured out what it is yet. I have an inkling what it is but that will stay on the shelf called denial.

Random thought for the day: I take my work very seriously, so I have a low tolerance for personal issues getting in the way of anyone (including myself) performing their duties at work. I could go on a rant about this but not only am I too tired I also am still waiting to see if the new boss is going to do something about it.

I happened to download the raw for Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro the other day. I am just now getting around to watch it. Imagine my surprise when a familiar voice delights my ears. My much loved seiyuu, Koyasu Takehito is the voice of Neuro.

Speaking of which I just bought a Neuro doujin. I hope its good. I also bought a bunch of Hitman Reborn doujin. Mainly by the circle NALIS. But what I am really looking for is anything by the circle UOHSAOH, the doujin-ka being Chikara Miwa. NYARscans did one called M. It’s Dr. Shamal x Gokudera. I just managed to procure one as well from eBay, Kodomo no Syuchou, Otona no Iiwake. Ah, the jailbait fetish lives on.

Oh anyone know if this is a really picture or just from Hoshino Katsura's imagination, cause I WANT it (of course without Allen in it). Poster-size this would look awesome on my wall, appropriately creepy.
